The huge mental health problems” said by David Cameron,

The legalization of Marijuana Desmond “I think if you actually look at the sort of marijuana on sale today, it is actually incredibly damaging, very, very, toxic, and in any case leads to huge mental health problems” said by David Cameron, Former British Prime Minister. The rising concern about the use of marijuana is severe recently. There are numbers of objections about the legalization of marijuana that people are concern about the negative influence of it. But the Canadian government insists despite the counter opinion from the public that made marijuana legalized. There are 3 main reasons why people objected to the legalization of marijuana. First, people who hold the against opinion believed that marijuana has completely no acceptable medicinal use. Second, legalizing marijuana might lead to the rising number of treatment and addiction in the world. Finally, People think that, due to the legalization of marijuana, the damage and death rate of driving is likely to increase. Marijuana should not be legalized because of it lack medicinal use, it encouraged addiction, and it increases the risk of driving accidents.Firstly, there is a controversy about lack of the number of support for marijuana medical claim. As we all know, marijuana has already put on use as a medical treatment in hospital for a long time. Accordingly, there is low and moderate-quality evidence supporting the effectiveness of marijuana for medical use. There is a research illustrate that The U.S. food and drug administration (FDA) has not approved the use of marijuana, so its use is unregulated. The United States food and drug administration, the substance abuse and mental health services administration and the national institute of substance abuse have not found reliable scientific research that supports the use of medical marijuana. Furthermore, the latest studies illustrate that There is little conclusive proof of marijuana. helps with chronic pain and PTSD. “A large study has shown that medical marijuana has not been proven to be used in many state-approved diseases. The strongest evidence, the analysis found, was chronic pain and the muscle stiffness of multiple sclerosis. The analysis assessed 79 studies including over than 6,000 patients.” (Clare, Garis et al., 2016). Moreover, the use of cannabis will increase. According to the research (Melanie M. Wall et al., 2011), data from the National Drug Use and Health survey, from 2008 to 2008, marijuana legalization in the state was 12 to 17 years older than other states in the name of drugs. Marijuana is the most abused drug among adolescents and adults throughout the country. In 2012 Monitoring In the Survey of future, 45.2 percent of high school graduates have tried marijuana, and 22.9 percent have used marijuana in the last 30 days. 6.5 percent of high school students smoke marijuana every day.”(Clare, Garis et al., 2016). FDA guidelines for approval of drugs require a determination of a number of factors: Frequency and duration management; And interactions with other drugs. None of these has been determined for marijuana. Never has smoking been an accepted method of administering any medicine. Based on the above research’s analysis. Regardless, even though marijuana has certain medical usage, but marijuana is not an accountable medicine.  Secondly, Smoking marijuana is bound to make you addicted, both in physically and psychologically ways. Although marijuana is used in some medical fields. But marijuana is still a drug. Marijuana has a strong hallucinogenic an excitatory effect. Most of the marijuana on the market is used for smoking and not for medical use, and even if it is not legal, there’s a huge market for people buying pot, and it is a huge market, and no wonder the government wants to use it to get a piece of it. Even though it is not as powerful as heroin, it is not to ignore marijuana’s addiction to people. Compared to the body, more prone to marijuana for addiction and mental addiction. “According to the controlled substances act of 1970, classifying marijuana as a prescribed class I drug is based on its high potential for abuse. Smoking marijuana regularly can be addictive and lead to behavioral deterioration, especially among young people. “According to the 2011 national drug use and health survey, marijuana users have the highest percentage of illegal drug use.”. In 2011, 6.5 million people aged 12 or over were dependent or abused for illicit drugs, of which 4.2 million (63.8%) were marijuana. (Clare, Garis et al., 2016). Moreover, marijuana is worse than the cigarette, it contains more toxic and more damage to the brain.” Smoking marijuana or any substance can pose a negative and potential threat to your respiratory health. Smoking marijuana can affect one’s memory, intelligence, judgment and ability to solve problems. There’s not enough scientific evidence to prove it, but there are many cases linking marijuana to the increased risk of mental illness. For instance, a number of people who have smoked cannabis are later diagnosed with mental illness or schizophrenia. Another noteworthy issue is that now in circulation hemp variety is much better than before. (Hasna, 2016)Many experts from the medical field encourage hospital patients to use marijuana as a way to help expedite healing. Smoking marijuana increases the risk of driving accidents. Including marijuana impairs and causes hallucinations. Smoking marijuana will not cause people to hallucinate and have blurred or slow vision, which will not affect driving. “Although marijuana has strong mental activity, it can’t cause visual hallucinations. When you close your eyes, you see the movement of your eyes, or you see a clearer image, you don’t see it as an experience of hallucinations. Large doses of THC can lead to extreme changes in perception, but the general public rarely causes real hallucinations. If you are experiencing hallucinations, please consult with the people around you and stay mentally healthy professional.”(Noall, 2017). But, too much marijuana use affects your mind and how you view the world. Marijuana affect coordination, decision and perception, which directly affect the driving is impaired. “This is the most common illegal drug found among affected drivers, injured drivers and car crash victims. A meta-analysis of nine recent epidemiological studies concluded that drivers who tested positive for marijuana accounted for more than twice as many as other drivers. Five years after the establishment of the “medical” marijuana program, fatal car crashes in California have risen by almost 100 percent, and drivers have tested positive for marijuana in the accident. According to the Colorado Department of transportation data, during the period of 2006 to 2010, registered in marijuana shops and the influx of a large number of “medical” marijuana smokers, the increase in the number of drivers to detect marijuana is doubled.”(Couper & Peterson, 2016)To sum up. From my own perspective, the conclusion is that legalization is a wrong decision. That includes the unreliable medical use, the legalization of marijuana abuse and marijuana addiction has been more harmful than the physical and psychological effects of smoking. There are numbers of complaints about the authorization of marijuana that individuals are worried about its negative impact. In any case, the Canadian government despite public objections still wants to legalize marijuana. A conclusion from people that made marijuana legalized. There is 3 principle motivation behind why individuals questioned the legalization of marijuana. The first one is individuals who hold the against opinion think that marijuana does not have an accountable medical usage. Second, legalizing marijuana may prompt the ascent of addiction problems. At last, People think that smoking marijuana can cause a potential driving hazard like drunk driving, or worse. After all, the harmful influence and negative impact marijuana have on people was mentioned that legalizing it will be biggest mistake that Canadian government will ever make. Nevertheless, once legalization has been made, what we should do is be more cautious about the usage of marijuana.Reference List: Clare, J., Garis, L., & Maxim, P. (2017).
